Gummy Bear Breast Implants

There are many different types of breast implants available, and the type you choose will ultimately have an impact on the breast enlargement prices you are quoted. While price should never be a deciding factor when it comes to cosmetic surgery, choosing to have a slightly more expensive implant type can make a big difference not only to the end result but also to your peace of mind.

Silicone implants got a bit of a bad name for themselves as a result of various health scares in the early 1990’s however since then there has been extensive research and development into them and it is now believe that they are in fact incredibly safe as implants. One of the main concerns about silicone implants is that if they begin to leak slightly, or in worst case rupture, then the silicone could present a potential health risk as it works it’s way through your body. There is still a lot of debate over whether or not leaked silicone poses a health risk to women with silicone implants, and while they have been FDA approved, many women still fee they are unsafe, and that their health has been compromised by a leaking implant.

Cohesive gel implants, commonly known as Gummy Bear Implants, have almost completely eliminated the risk of silicone leakage from implants, making them much safer and giving women peace of mind. Cohesive gel mplants are made of the same components a traditional silicone implant is made up of however it has one additional component that causes the silicone molecules to beind together. This is where the nickname gummy bear implants has come from, as the implants themselves feel just like gummy bears and if you were to cut into one you would find it has the same consistency as a gummy bear. The main advantage this type of implant has is that it retains it’s shape and is stable, meaning it is less likely to ripple or fold which can sometimes occur with silicone and saline implants. There is also minimal risk of the implants leaking, as should they rupture the silicone will hold it’s shape thanks to the “gummy bear effect”.

With a natural look and feel to them, and minimal health risks, the gummy bear or cohesive gel implant is a great choice for any women considering breast enlargement surgery. The only downside to these style of implants is that they cannot be inserted using the TUBA method. This is because transumbilical breast augmentation has to be done with saline implants that can be filled once they are in place. Cohesive gel implants are generally inserted either through an incision underneath the breast, around the areola or through the armpit, so while there is still the option to minimise scarring, there will still be some evidence of your boob job. Gummy bear implants do cost a bit more than standard silicone implants, however paying that little bit extra for peace of mind is well worth it form most women. When it comes to breast enlargement prices you may find that you end up paying slightly more than you expected to, but will have a much better outcome than you dared dream of.

When it comes to breast enlargement prices, there are a few tips and tricks to help you get the best prices while also ensuring you get the best procedure and care at the same time. While it is right to be wary of any prices that seem too good to be true, it is not the best idea to go for the most expensive option on the assumption you will be receiving a superior standard.

Research into any clinics you are considering is the only way to be sure you are going to get a good standard of care, and that you are comfortable with the surgeon and the surroundings. You can’t judge a clinic by it’s prices, and you may even find that a high-charging clinic is not as good as a lesser-charging clinic. When you are researching clinics of course price is going to be a consideration, however it is worth remembering that advertised prices are not set in stone, and while generally you will find that they will increase, there are occasions where you will be able to get a price that is better than the advertised one.

The final price of your breast enlargement will be determined by factors such as the type of implants you choose to have and the incision site you have. Techniques that hide scars are more expensive than techniques that leave some visible scarring, and the shape and filling of your implant will also affect the price.  If you find that the technique and implants you want are slightly out of your price range then you may be able to negotiate with the clinic to reduce the rate slightly. While you don’t want to compromise on the standard of care you are going to receiving in any way, shape or form, you may find that you can agree to have your surgery used in a promotional way for the clinic, such as a documentary on the specific technique that is being used. Another possibility is to allow junior surgeons to sit in on your surgery in order to observe certain techniques being carried out, or even carry them out themselves if they are in the very advanced stage of their training. This will of course all be done under strict supervision from a very experienced consultant who will guide them every step of the way.

Finding the best clinic for your breast augmentation surgery is so important as you want to have complete peace of mind going in for your procedure. Being able to find the best breast enlargement prices at a clinic you feel comfortable with may take a little time, but will be worth it in the end.

TUBA Breast Enlargement Surgery

Breast enlargement surgery, TUBA June 8th, 2010

Breast enlargement surgery has become more and more advanced over the years, and as techniques have developed it has become easier to perform surgery without leaving large or visible scars. However, due to the complex nature of some of these types of procedure, breast enlargement prices tend to be higher.

One of the most popular methods of implant insertion techniques is known as TUBA which stands for Transumbilical Breast Augmentation. This method was first discovered in the early 1990’s and has since then been refined and developed to make it one of the most popular, and scar-free methods of implant insertion for those women choosing saline implants.

There are many benefits to have breast implants inserted in this way, however it may not be suited to everyone, and if your surgeon does not feel it is the correct way to perform your breast augmentation then you will have to consider the other recommended methods. Using Transumbilical breast augmentation technique means that both implants can be inserted through one incision, which is made in the fold of skin over the belly button. This means that there are no visible scars around the breast area, which is something many women are keen to avoid as it gives away the fact that they have had breast enlargement.

Once the incision is made, a blunt surgical instrument will be used to tunnel up to the breast tissue, and depending on whether the implant is to sit over or under the chest muscle, the appropriate dissection will be made. An endoscope will be used to ensure that this has been performed correctly and then an implant sizer will be put into place to create a suitably size pocket for the implant to rest in. This is done on both breasts to ensure symmetry and placement are both correct. Once this is done, the implant sizers are removed and the saline implant shells are positioned, and then filled. Once the surgeon is happy that the implants are filled correctly and the breast shapes and sizes are satisfactory, the filling tubes are removed. Saline implants have self sealing valves that will close as soon as the filling tubes are removed, then the single incision at the navel is stitched.

The recovery time for TUBA surgery is considerably less than with conventional methods, as there are no large wounds to heal, and most women find that they can resume daily activities in around 7 days and begin to undertake exercise in about 3 weeks. As with all forms of breast enhancement surgery, complete healing will take 6 to 12 months. If you are not too concerned with breast enlargement prices, and would like to have surgery that results in minimal scarring, the TUBA could well be the ideal procedure for you.
